Agro-processing

The objectives of the project are to:

  • Facilitate FDI investments in key areas thanks to the policy support, governance and incentive measures;
  • Promote the development of priority value chains through the establishment of infrastructure to support production, logistics, storage and processing; and
  • Build the capacity of stakeholders in priority agro-industrial areas.

Agri value chain

The supply chain is sub-divided into two sections:

  • Cereal section: Here, the supply chain focuses on soybeans, which is the most promising sector of the PIA project. It is specialized in the purchase, processing and export of soybeans.
  • Wood section: In addition to building suitable infrastructures and providing efficient logistics, PIA will procure cotton and soya to its tenants, at a price which should be competitive with export FOB prices.

Manufacturing

PIA works towards encouraging various type of industries with an objective to focus on Africa to:

  • Tap benefits under various schemes like AGOA, EU, LDC.
  • Utilise the planned investment of US$ 750 million for providing assured electrical / water supply, single window clearance, CETP for finishing units & hassle-free production environment.
  • Provide long-term electricity access to industries within the zone with solar plant installation in the additional area of 445 ha provided by Togolese government.

Inland Container Depot (ICD)

ICD is equipped with 150,000 TEU capacity that caters to landlocked countries like Burkina, Mali and Niger. Some of its benefits include:

  • Less yard congestion at Port Autonome de Lomé (PAL)
  • Increased quayside productivity / potential for more vessel calls
  • Additional revenue / additional charge in ICD per TEU
  • More competitive marketplace / country attractiveness
  • Increase visibility on trade statistics and transparency
  • More control on the weight of trucks for transit cargo

Cold storage

Cold chain logistics in Togo pursue objectives such as:

  • Reduction of food wastage and enhanced shelf life.
  • Opening of opportunities for exporting local grown fruits and vegetables to EU, the USA and other countries under various special trade agreements.
  • Create employment opportunities and up skilling of human resource.
  • Health sector in Togo can leverage the warehouse facility to strengthen their supply chain and distribution operation.

Finished product storage

This is a dedicated facility in the logistics park for storage of goods, like raw material, finished products, project material, transit cargo etc. Supply chain activities include:

  • Finished goods store
  • Quality assurance
  • Logistic department
  • Approved transporter

Commercial & residential zone

PIA’s futuristic residential and commercial zones feature the following advantages:

  • Commercial zone: ‘Take Your Brand to New Levels’ Commercial Zone serves multiple industries, including some of the world’s biggest and most successful retail, convenience store, restaurant, hotel, banks, and management brands.
  • Residential zone: Includes areas where multiple-unit dwellings and high-rise apartment districts are located.

Textile

ARISE IIP will work with the Togolese government to attract foreign investors in textile sector. Its key highlights include:

  • Construction of the garment training centers where trainees will be introduced to the garment industry, thereby catalyzing a qualified workforce in the Textile sector.
  • Created direct and indirect employment.
  • Fulfil our Corporate Social Responsibility policy through various initiatives.
